Laidley’s Recreational Reserve is set to come alive with the sound of music this September as Australian Idol finalist Denvah and Brisbane's own Geed Up headline the 62nd annual Laidley Spring Festival.

Held over three big days from September 12-14, the festival has been a highlight on Queensland’s social calendar for more than 60 years, with the event offering a vibrant mix of entertainment, culture, and local flair.

Each bringing a level of stardom to the festival, Denvah is a rising country music star who captured hearts across the nation after appearing on season 9 of Australian Idol back in 2024, whereas Brisbane-based band Geed Up are familiar favourites at Eat Street Northshore and Tangalooma Island Resort.

Both will appear on the Festival Precinct’s main stage on Saturday, September 13.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said she was excited to secure these big-named artists for the festival.

“The Laidley Spring Festival is all about celebrating community, culture, and creativity and by welcoming artists like Denvah and Geed Up to this year’s festival, we are sure to deliver another exciting and memorable weekend for people of all ages to enjoy,” Cr Milligan said.

“As a top three finalist on Australian Idol, Denvah's heartfelt performances and genuine country spirit captured the hearts of many, making her one of Australia’s most promising country music talents to watch.

“Geed Up are another band making waves in the music industry. Known for their dynamic performances and unique blend of music and entertainment, they are sure to keep our festival-goers dancing and smiling.

“With the festival being free for all, families can come and enjoy these talented artists free of charge.”

With a down-to-earth charm that makes everyone feel at home, Denvah has swiftly become a shining star in the Australian Country Music scene.

Her debut EP was released in 2020, and in addition to appearing on Australian Idol, the quirky country girl from Rockhampton has also shared the stage with and supported celebrated artists like Morgan Evans, Kasey Chambers, Brad Butcher, Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, and Busby Marou at numerous festivals and events including Tamworth Country Music Festival, Country Fest Qld, Gympie Music Muster, and Groundwater Country Music Festival.

Eager to add the Lockyer Valley to her list of appearances, Denvah said she can’t wait to kick up her heels at the Laidley Spring Festival.

“I’m excited to be part of this year’s festival.,” Denvah said.

“I’m just a good old-fashioned country girl who loves sharing my music with others. There’s nothing better than connecting with people through song.

“I like to perform a mix of my own songs and a few covers. I keep things upbeat and fun so the crowd can really get into it. I want everyone to leave with a smile.”

Transitioning from boot scooting to breakdancing, Khan Roparti from Geed Up said he can’t wait to wow audiences with their signature performance, ‘The Worst Show Ever’.

“We’re thrilled to bring 'The Worst Show Ever' to Laidley. It’s always exciting to perform in new places and see how our show resonates with fresh audiences,” he said.

These performances are just two of the highlights at this year’s Festival Precinct, which will once again be the heart of the Laidley Spring Festival.

In between gigs, attendees will also enjoy engaging cooking demonstrations, captivating roving performers, an impressive Show ‘n’ Shine competition, the Garden Precinct, Spring Gem Show, an assortment of artisan market stalls, and a delicious array of food trucks.
