Get ready to laugh, sing, and dance as two of Sesame Street’s most iconic characters make their way to the Lockyer Valley for an unforgettable appearance at this year’s Laidley Spring Festival, running from September 12–14.

Fan favourites Elmo and Cookie Monster will appear on the festival’s Main Stage at 11am on Saturday, September 13, with a high-energy show packed with music, movement, and interactive fun for the whole family.

Suitable for fans of all ages, this delightful stage show celebrates friendship, problem-solving, and the timeless magic of Sesame Street.

As they explore their new surroundings, the lovable duo will enlist the help of the audience to solve a playful problem—creating a journey filled with heart, humour, and plenty of surprises.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan, said the show would be a highlight for families attending this year’s festival.

“For more than half a century, Sesame Street has been a trusted source of early childhood storytelling and learning,” Cr Milligan said.

“Many of us grew up watching Elmo and Cookie Monster, and now we get to experience the joy of watching them with our children and grandchildren.

“No matter your age, you’re sure to be captivated by the show’s energy, warmth, and fun.

“We’re proud to offer high-quality entertainment like this completely free of charge. Families can come along, relax, and enjoy the show and the festival atmosphere without worrying about breaking the budget.”

As one of the most popular Muppets on the hit children’s show, Elmo said he can’t wait to meet more Sesame Street fans in Laidley.

“Elmo is looking forward to seeing all of Elmo’s friends smiling and having fun at the festival,” Elmo said.

“It’s going to be super special because we will all be together laughing, learning and singing in the sun, which is what Elmo loves best.”

The live Sesame Street show is proudly presented by IZIT? Entertainment - a company known for delivering world-class family entertainment.

In addition to the Sesame Street show, there will be plenty more family fun in store across the three-day festival with activities and entertainment designed for children of all ages.

On Friday, September 12, families can dive into the excitement of Under 5’s Day, featuring a range of interactive and playful experiences.

Little ones will love the animal nursery, inflatable soccer fun, messy play stations, face painting, balloon twisting, silent disco, dance performances, and friendly mascots—plus hands-on creativity in the LEGO and DUPLO pit.

There will also be engaging displays from emergency services, perfect for curious young minds.

The fun continues Sunday, September 14, with Bee Happy Day - a colourful celebration especially suited for families with children aged six months and up.

Attendees can expect themed craft stations, face painting, circus workshops, bubble discos, and plenty more joyful activities to keep little ones buzzing with excitement.
