Renowned chef and television personality Matt Golinski is set to bring his culinary flair and passion for local produce to the Laidley Spring Festival this September.
Running from 12-14 September, the festival will offer visitors the chance to see the Ready Steady Cook star live in the brand-new Producer’s Patch on Saturday, 13 September, where he’ll showcase fresh seasonal ingredients grown in the fertile soils of the Lockyer Valley – fondly known as Australia’s Salad Bowl.
True to his paddock-to-plate philosophy, Matt will partner with local growers, farmers, and producers to create several spring-inspired dishes that are both delicious and easy for foodies to recreate at home.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan, said she is excited to welcome Matt to the much-loved festival, calling him the perfect fit for the festival’s ethos.
“We’re beyond excited to have Matt Golinski on board for our 2025 Festival,” Cr Milligan said.
“He’s passionate, down-to-earth, and genuinely loves showcasing fresh, local, seasonal produce – which makes him a perfect fit for the Lockyer Valley.
“With our region bursting with beautiful fruit and veggies, I just know he’s going to create something truly special.
“If you love good food, this is your chance to see one of Australia’s most talented and inspiring chefs in action – and best of all, it’s free!”
Eager to make his festival debut, Matt said he’s looking forward to shining a spotlight on the region’s local food heroes.
“When I’m on-stage cooking, it’s not about showing off my skills – it’s about celebrating the incredible talent of the people who grow our food,” Matt said.
“I love working with local producers because every ingredient has a story. By sharing those stories, people start to see their food differently – not just as a shopping list, but as something grown with care, passion, and pride.
“I’m also passionate about creating simple, delicious dishes that give people the confidence to try them at home.
“I don’t believe recipes need to be complicated – they should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
Anthony Bauer, a fifth-generation farmer and owner of Australian Organic Farmers, will join forces with Mr Golinski to put his fresh, organic, chemical-free produce front and centre in the chef’s signature seasonal dishes.
“As Australia’s largest group of certified organic farmers, we are committed to growing a healthier future for everyone,” Mr Bauer said.
“We have some beautiful farm-fresh produce for Matt that has been grown in healthy soil without the use of chemicals and pesticides.”
